STAR Group a.k.a. flock of seagulls.

Led by Professor Paul Siegel, the STAR group focuses on signal processing, information and coding theory, with particular interest toward digital data storage systems and wireless communications.

We are part of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCSD. Some group members also participate with the Center for Magnetic Recording Research (CMRR) and the Center for Wireless Communications (CWC). All STAR PhD students are in the area of Communication Theory and Systems.
